Unicorn founders in 2024

11 new unicorns have been created in Europe in 2024 (for a total of 25 unicorn founders).

As for the previous years, I tracked the background of the 25 founders:

-       Just 1 female founder (4% of the total);

-       Median age: 29 years (31 years in 2023);

-       60% of the unicorn founders have a Master Degree;

-       100% of the unicorn founders have a university degree;

-       Previous employers of the unicorn founders include blue chips companies like Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Google, Blackrock and Palantir;

-       Being the majority of the new unicorns in the AI space, the new unicorn founders have very scientific/deep tech competences and education.
