In the UK there are just 18 listed Internet/Software companies with a valuation of over $1bn (soon 17 after DarkTrace will go private).
At the same time in the UK there are 43 private unicorn (https://www.beauhurst.com/research/unicorn-companies/#:~:text=There%20are%20currently%2043%20active,the%20maturing%20venture%20capital%20industry.).
Exiting a company with a valuation of $1bn is an enormous achievement and probably 90% of the today unicorns will never exit at that valuation.
To put things in prospective: an IPO in London @ a $1bn valuation would means that a company will be on the verge to enter automatically in hashtag#FTSE250.
Entry valuations are the key for a successful exit. A simple principle that us investors forgot to remember in the 2021 craziness period.
